Toyota Corolla

2012 Toyota Corolla

Toyota has been giving birth to Corolla since 1966. They have been known to live forever. The Corolla is in its 11th generation and with the years devoted to perfecting it, this car should be perfect.
Styling

The Corolla has a decent look. It’s simple yet tasteful with the normal size head lights and normal size grille. The rear end is not all that daring but looks great. I feel it could do without the chrome strip. Fog lamps to the front and spoiler on the back are little things that go along way with the style of this car. The inside of the car is also simple yet tasteful. The entune system makes for a better view of the inside, but without it it’s still nice.
Trims

The Corolla has three trims L, S, LE. The L is your basic car witch I hate to say because that is really not true when you are buying a Toyota. It doesn’t matter what Toyota you buy they seem to never die if you take care of them. The S and LE are the better models that give you more options, we all know how these car dealers are.

Power-Train

The Corolla only has one engine available; it’s the 1.8L I4 which gets 135hp and 128 lbs.-ft. of torque.
Technology

There isn’t much technology in the corolla; there in no navigation available but the entune is a great system. It lets you use the internet to look for places to eat and other POI’s which to me makes it pretty close to a navigation system. The entune has a good response time when you push buttons and the internet works at a decent speed.

Driving Aspects

The Corolla is a very comfortable car. When you get your seat in the right position and press the gas you find that this little Toyota is very peppy. The gas pedal is sensitive, which I love, and the breaks are pretty good as well. The steering is decently balanced and the car has a good turn radius. If you like Toyotas then you will like the Corolla because it sticks to its Toyota heritage when it comes to driving.

Purchasing

So you have decided that the Corolla is the car for you, I would suggest that you skip the base trim and go with the S. In the S trim you get the rear spoiler and front fog lamp, which exceedingly helpful for appearance. You shouldn’t take the entune because it doesn’t have the navigation and costs about $1170 and for that price you could get a good navi in the aftermarket. The Sunroof is a nice add-on and if you like them I would definitely get it.
